Sustainability
C&C’s London design house sources sustainable wood, such as bamboo, to craft every pair of C&C frames. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet; some species can grow as quickly as 50cm in a single day. C&C aims to source all wood used in the creation of C&C glasses from completely sustainable sources.
Many plastic glasses are of a low quality; the number that end up in landfill each year is impossible to quantify. Combined with the fact that continued use of plastic is not sustainable, better materials must be found that are more suited to glasses. Wood is natural. It also leaves out the harmful chemicals plastic glasses present near your face. Classic does not need to be synonymous with harmful.
Creating glasses uses resources and C&C believe it is important to give back what we take. C&C is committed to sustainable business and is constantly investigating and evaluating ways to improve sustainability in the fashion industry. C&C invests in planting a tree for every pair of glasses sold - to replenish the wood used in the creation of our glasses, offset our carbon footprint from delivering our glasses to your door and to contribute to rebuilding the forests of our beautiful planet.
